Thanks G!

nice night

Aw, my baby is soooo camera-shy!

Especially when wearing a gift-wrap-headpiece.

There we go... A nice shot. Except- wtf are my bangs up to here?
It's like the left bangs are in a battle with the right bangs.

This was my gift to C. Hommade card and inside that beautifully wrapped gift was SCRABBLE-FOLIO.
C had a serioulsy old school Travel Scrabble which recent broke :(
So I bought him the fancy new updated version that we can bring to Kilgour's in the summer to play on their patio....

Close by, and watching us like a hawk was Mr J.
This is his new favorite pose.

This is what I gots from C.
I swear to gawd if Dee-Lite had a pair of flannel pj's - these would be the ones.
They are the most comfortable things I have ever put on my body. Sooo soft inside and out!

Amazing Grace Techno - Computer Controlled Christmas Lights from Richard Holdman on Vimeo.

Wet Feet / Warm Heart

Looking out our apt window this morning, I was well aware that it was a little wet outside. I decided to wear my regular boots, as apposed to getting out the Sorels. It is supposed to go up to 5 degrees, after all.

As soon as I stepped out onto Howland Ave, I realized that I was sorrily mistaken. The 8 minute walk to the subway was like trudging through a wading pool of slush. I have two giant soakers and wet jeans- Yuck!
.... thank god for the 9 pairs of shoes I keep (no shit!) under my desk in a box.

Not a very great start to my THREE YEAR ANNIVERSARY with C dawg.
OH well, This means it can (and certainly will) only get better :)

This evening will consist of a delicious homemade dinner Indian Food at home and let's face it- prolly some teevee.
What do we gots?
Well, for one GLEE is on. Ali's favorite new show! (hehe)
I don't know what it is, I mean I don't normally like musicals...

WAIT who am I kidding??? Grease Two is IN my top ten movies of all time. For reals.

Anywho for those who have not watched it, it is pretty decent. The overly-amplified characters and story lines make for a sure teevee addiction.

We've also got the Dragon's Den. A truly Canadian show featuring some well-off people most have never heard of giving away funds to entrepreneurs. One of this shows "Dragons" is Kevin O'Leary with whom C and I play the "MONEY" drinking game. (every time he says MONEY you drink....... he says money alot)

This evening there is something else I am sure we'll be tuning into.
The Maple Leafs are playing.
I don't often blog about this, but I AM a Leafs fan. There I said it. I guess it started three years ago when Corey stole my heart (and quite honestly- the remote control on occasion). I have really grown to enjoy the game- and the Leafs are the underdog who have not won a Stanley Cup since sometime in the 1800's. Ok, so I exaggerate a little.

Well I suppose a perfect evening is in place. I gots my man, my tuxedo cat and some good cuddle time on the couch.

love you hunny!
Happy Versa-annary!

Girlz Night In

Last night was a blast and a half. Ali and Hayley were kind enough to have a chicks night in at their place which consisted of 5 ladies, the WOULD YOU RATHER board game, some happy juice, and stuff......

I can honestly say all said ladies in my company last night are truly wonderful. What a treat.

Fiona, Ali, Hayley and Nina- You gals are seriously the tops.

We laughed alot, sometimes uncontrollably- to the point where once I caught my breath I had forgotten what triggered the giggles in the first place.
Love those nights.
Love laughing.

This was a camera-free event. Therefore, here is my own artistic rendition of the evening.

Coming home to a sweet sweet man was a bonus. Tomorrow is C dawg and I's THREE YEAR anniversary!

Love my baby!

chop chop

I cut my own bangs again this morning.
I try to get to that Side Swoop stage, but the awkward "in between" proved to be too much for me. Plus, I had my brows done (she kinda took a lot away) but I might as well show these little groomed suckers off.

It's 11:44 am and I am starving.
Why is it on days I do not eat breakfast I can go til 3pm before lunch without feeling anything but when I slurp back a yogurt and a clementine in the AM I am STARVED before noon?
This will be fixed soon, Nina and I are lunching today.
Might try this place. Pretty decent prices.

After work (come on four O'Clock, I am counting on you) I am hanging with Fiona and the C dawg. Beers followed by delicious food at home and possibly my WOULD YOU RATHER board game I gots from BOLT for my BDAY.
P.S. My Ladies we can play this game next week. Fiona and I come over ok? I could even make a Mexican Lasagna! You won't be disappointed!!

Tomorrow night I am attending a stagette.
My pal met a guy. Went to visit him in Australia and came back from her visit ENGAGED. It's crazy how thing love shit happens so so differently for peeps.
I can only wonder what C and I would be now if I got some bling from him on date #9.
Although come to think of it, I am sure we had said "I love you" by then.
What can I say? It is a strange and wonderful thing (love).

I think we are hitting CLINTONS for Shake a Tail feather on Saturday. Hayley I wish I had one of your homemade feather things. It would fit right in there.

Obviously, this one.

I LOVE this movie. A year without Ralphy is like a year without a Christmas at all!
As children, my sister and I would watch this film religiously on Xmas. My sister had the unfortunate haircut-and-glasses-combo which made her look similar to the movie's star BOY.
Movie's bonus points:
Scut Farkus and keeping your eyes peeled for Toronto landmarks in the film.

The above movie is highly under-rated. I suppose the presence of Hugh Grant could lead many to believe that this is just another-Hugh-movie.
Quite the contrary.
The performances from all other cast mates is fantastic. great story lines.

And Emma Thompson's relationship woes with hubby Alan Rickman (LOVE LOVE LOVE him) is enough to make you weep.

I was thinking of checking out my boyfriend Jim Carrey in that new Christmas Carol flick.... but will it be good? Or will I be disappointed??

My Un-Wish list of the day

Things I do not "get" / GRIND MY GEARS

  1. Reese's Peanut Butter cups (chocolate + pb = gross)
  2. Kings Of Leon (I mean rrreally? What's so special?)

That is all for now.
I am definitely getting my period if I felt the need to post this.

Dear Jane,
Are you sure this drawing of a spider is the one I sent you? This spider only has seven legs and I do not feel I would have made such an elementary mistake when I drew it.

Dear David,
Yes it is the same drawing. I copied and pasted it from the email you sent me on the 8th.

Hello, I am back and have read through your emails and accept that despite missing a leg, that drawing of a spider may indeed be the one I sent you. I realise with hindsight that it is possible you rejected the drawing of a spider due to this obvious limb ommission but did not point it out in an effort to avoid hurting my feelings. As such, I am sending you a revised drawing with the correct number of legs as full payment for any amount outstanding. I trust this will bring the matter to a conclusion.

Dear David,
As I have stated, we do not accept drawings in lei of money for accounts outstanding.
We accept cheque, bank cheque, money order or cash. Please make a payment this week to avoid incurring any additional fees.

I understand and will definitely make a payment this week if I remember. As you have not accepted my second drawing as payment, please return the drawing to me as soon as possible. It was silly of me to assume I could provide you with something of completely no value whatsoever, waste your time and then attach such a large amount to it.

How LONG are my nostrils?

I caught a glimpse of myself while in the change room at H&M on the weekend.

I was shocked.

I found photographic evidence that my nostirls.... may win a world record.

My new motto- "Say NO to PROFILE shots!"

Today at 5pm I go in for a hair choppin'. I am growing this shit out though.
I found that during my pilates classes that I have the tiniest of ponytails already! It's like 2 inches long. This may, however change after 5pm today BUT I am in desperate need for a real trim. This means not ME in my bathroom chopping away.

Growing- Hair and Nails both.
For the first time in 18 years I want a different New Year's Resolution than "stop biting my nails". It is ridiculous. I have somehow found the power though. These babies are LONG. I figured with flu season and everything I prolly shouldn't be putting my fingers in my mouth ANYWAYS.

I volunteered at the Daily Bread Food Bank yesterday. Nice to get an afternoon away from the old office and do good. Plus we found some amazing shit. Peoples home movies on VHS, PUDDIN' from around 1962 I SWEAR.... oh and a half jar of PB and one bagel in it's bag.

Birf-day Weekend

My Birthday weekend was pretty much amazing.
Friday night was so so much fun. It was a long night- and a good night.

That's what you get for having your first corona at 4:30pm I suppose.

I made my way to Jamieson country later in the evening- which may explain the bruises on my legs. Ouch.
All in all no one was hurt too much. I did get to sing some karaoke and many friends turned up for the festivities.

"White Rabbit"- I need a new song.

My adoring fans.

I would marry my own cheekbones here.

And finally, me realizing that my purple bra is showing in all pics, due to the flash- again

I NEED NEW CLOTHES. and a new bra, apparently.

Saturday night i had the most amazing dinner at the most amazing restaurant with the most amazing people. I love my pals. Was so tired and full after dinner that we headed home early. I am a party pooper BUT It was my Birthday so ANYTHING is allowed. New Rule :)

Sunday night I went to St. Jacobs for brunch with my pops. A post, as promised "all about Bob" will come soon.

Hi, I'm 31

I woke up this morning to many Bday wishes from many great friends and family.

Apparently Jackson has learned to type because I also received this picture from him via email with a "Happy Birthday Mom" message.

Tonight- Meatless Balls.

Let the 4 days of celebrating ... BEGIN

Last day of a 30 year old gal

That's right. 'Cause tomorrow I turn 31!

I am happy to be where I am. I am "in my thirites", not in terrible shape (although we can always use improvements), I (actually) like my job, I have great friends, a ridicously fun family, and of course C dawg and J cat.

I guess what I am saying is that I am pretty lucky.

My birthday festivites begin around Friday at 4 O Clock near work where lots of pals are coming out to celegrate not only my own, but a few other friends at work's Bdays. (including JOEL and KYLE)

I will eventually (if time allows) make my way drag my ass to the GLADSTONE for some much needed KARAOKE. And knowing me, I'll sing a staple like White Rabbit because lots of work people have yet to experience it.

Yes, It is an experience.

Also I hope C dawg gets up to do a diddy and then his signature front flip off the stage.

Saturday I head to KW and go to BHIMAS for dinner and then meet up with more great pals.

My sister is coming now too- wooo hooo. She also used to work there, as did BOLT so this will be a good ol trip down memory lane.

Oh yes. Memories of being the "dish pig" in an open-concept kitchen where I had to go retrieve the pots and pans from the chef's who would throw them to the side afte ruse.

Memories of the scars I endured on my arms from being hit by said flying pots and pans.

I also get to go see my daddy on Sunday. (full weekend). My dad = hilarious.

Someday I will dedicate a post to him and all the shit he has said / done. A big piece of "Bobby Z" is a part of both my sister and I. I see it in her and I am sure she see's it in me. We are also both very much like Marmie. A good Gilbert-Zerback mix, I'd say.

Alright I am off to enjoy my last day of "30"

Halloween revisited

We are so mature

Cammy and the Smoking Crocodile. Dunno why, but this picture slays me.

HAHAHAAHA like I said- the maturity just oozes from us.

Once again......

and the sister-shot.

Halloween 09 OVER AND OUT.

Wednesday, November 4, 2009

Is next Thursday. The following Saturday I am dragging my arse to Waterloo to go to my VERY FAVORITE restaurant, BHIMAS WARUNG.

I'm telling you, this place would make my list of top ten THINGS THAT PLEASE ME.

Ironically, it is also the place I began my life in the working world.

Here's my circa 1997 or 8 washing dishes on New Years Eve.
Oh, that leopard!

Better now- Here's the place and food

Looooord help me.

Wil I make it through the next 10 days????????????

C'est Halloween- HEY!

Hallowe'en- Day One- work party:

I think we did a great job. My team went all out getting their costumes together - notice Kyle's "light saver = fluorescent light bulb", and Joel's costume = an actual lightsaver.
Plus Jar Jar Binks has never has such a nice rack, in my opinion ;)

Moving on.....

Night One- KW:

Hallowe'en- Night Two- T dot:

The red arrow is pointing to my first customer at the snacks table. I love venturing out to the Mexican Food Market to get delicious hot salsa, cheese and fresh corn tortillas, and making these cheesy quesadillas to bring to the party so that I can watch as some wheat-a-bix feeds the dog my snacks.

Oh well, I know I had at least one more customer. I'm hoping some of the party-goers (who are not of the canine persuasion) stumbled upon my treats on the table latter in the night :)

I love Hallowe'en. Really, any excuse to dress up is cool beans with me. The great thing about Alicia and Hayley's friends are they are all great sports and get into the costume thang. I also recently realized that although I have been at a few different "dress up" parties at the ALI-JOE-HAYLEY-JAMES place- this was the first actual Hallowe'en one.

Again, any excuse to get dressed up. I am in.

This evening is dinner with the Kumars. Whatever shall we make? I am so into food this week I can't even tell you. Let's just say this week I am "allowed". Next week- salad time.

Oh yes, this just in- Jackson still adorable-

the end.

You Know You're Old When....

Your friend's KID is in the MuchMusic VJ searches "Top 8"

Last nights dinner was amazing.

it equaled-

Plus roasted carrots, potatoes, and some steamed brocs.

I am eating the leftovers now and trying my darned not to grab a spoon and slurp up all the leftover gravy on my plate (at my desk).

Certain conversations with co-workers just make my day:

"So, how was dogsitting this weekend?"

"the dog had a really gross looking vagina"

The Thank -You Post

I would first like to Thank HAYLEY and ALICIA for having myself and C-dawg over on Friday night. Sorry we didn't make it to the show- we're lame like that.

And thanks Ali for my new profile pic! I needed an update, yo!

I'm getting this for lunch today. Veggie Gravy = Krista can eat poutine! Happy times!
Thanks to Kyle (who needs to start blogging again) for biking down to pick that shit up

I got my costume down pat over the weekend.

Thanks to Corey for hauling our asses to the burbs. We hit both Mississauga and Scarborough to locate my finds. It should be a success at Colleen's Halloween costume party Friday night.

We also picked up something for my brother in law who is REFUSING to dress up:

A final THANK YOU to Fiona for saving... my head yesterday.

See, we were sitting at Kilgours and I felt something fall into my hair. At first I thought maybe something from a tree OR worse yet BIRD SHIT....

But it was much worse! A bee had somehow managed to bury itself in my hair. I don't even HAVE that much hair so it is hard to say exactly how this happened. But Fiona jumped at it, and just started raking and raking into my locks until the little bastard was outta there.

ummm. Thanks.. for.. stopping by?

JJB... the arrival

So ya'll know about my hatred for MY OFFICE'S STAR WARS THEME for this year's Halloween....

Well, It has gone from annoyance to plain old awesomeness.

Ladies and gentlemen behold!
