Thanks to Laura and Jon for hosting a great night Friday, putting Fio and I up for the night, as well as our breakfast outting :)
This evening is where the donuts came in. The cabbie was surely out to impress us 3 ladies and was driving erratically on Laura's street. (actually) FUN!
Saturday was family time; we visited Dad and Linda and played American Idol on their Wii system. Simon raved over my skills.
Kel and I watched Brother Rob play hockey in Cambridge LAMEbridge and later crashed his buddy's UFC (ew) party. We walked over half in the bag through the "2cm" (more like 6 inches) of snow...
look closely- "thanks camera!"
Sunday was a "Superbowl / Tiffy's old" (haha- i mean YOUNG) party.
Here is Red sporting a FOOTBALL themed bandana.....
And Lenny in her PANAMA canal bandana:
Girls! Girls! Mozzerella Sticks!
and a party just wouldn't be a party without little Diva Caiden. She was dancing it up (and singing) to Katy Perry, and other songs way too hip for me. Girl's got moooves!
I arrived home to my two SO COOL men. Check out what we call Jackson's Johnny Depp inspired look:
My love of Newfoundland is prety big. I've only been there once, when I was quite young- but that particular province has blessed my life with some AMAZING Newfie pals.
One more reason to LOVE Newfoundland?
This photograph that my dear friend Debby took while visiting there a couple years ago.
Corey surprised me last night, as he framed it for me :)
This photo captivates me. And now I can show it off! Yeaaaah!
I have returned safely from Panama. I survived two- 5 hour flights. I gotta say, I am still terrified to fly.
Wow, though. It was worth it. What a week.
Fist of all the weather was... perfect. It rained (if you could even call it that) for all of 5 minutes on one day while we were at the beach. We were already wet, and so it obvi didn't matter.
The ocean is fantastic. I hate to say it, being a Canadian gal with Lakes a plenty around but I am definitely an ocean gal. I love the temperature and I love the salt. Love the salt.
There are so many reason to love Panama, but I got to say no matter where you go- it is mostly about WHO you go WITH:
Exhibit A) This is the wonderful family who adopted me for one full week on a very short notice. I can't say enough about every one of these beautiful faces- great people. (That blond third from the right is pretty incredible as well- i kid)
Thanks to the G Clan!
On our first day, we met a nice worker-guy named Anel. He made us this-
His name is Dennis Hopper the grasshopper-made outta palm leaf! (and no I am not pregnant) The maids STOLE him....
There was a very lame disco but we made the best of it. I rocked that dress so well, Fio gave it to me! I am in love!
The resort was real nice as you can see-
Swim up bar! Waterslide- On our last day, I made Fio beach it with me in attempts to get some modeling shots that we could add to our portfolios. Hell-oo.
I am back and the peeling has begun.
(And by peeling I mean my skin... even though the above beauty shot may make one think I could make a killing as a stripper... I still have my diginity.)
In about 24 hours, I will have arrived in Panama. One week away from my boys will be hard, I must admit. In case anyone forgets- I am referring to this guy:
and this guy:
Together, known as THESE GUYS:
This will be the longest C dawg and I have been apart in our four years together. By far. I suppose absence makes the heart grow fonder? Is that even possible??
I will have Fio's shoulder to cry on when I'm missing them.
Last night I had a dream that I had this pet bird and he could skip-rope.
And he was so so good at it. But for some reason I realized he would be BETTER at jump rope if he was only a head. So I cut his body off:
There was no blood for some reason. It was like there was a special empty pit there between the head and the body so that the head could in fact (or was meant to be) separated from the body-
But then I realized he was helpless. And I would have to take care of him. Forever. I felt guilty and sad. I asked Kyle to help me and he said he couldn't because he had just got a cat himself.
I woke up this morning in a complete PANIC. I couldn't go back to sleep without the vision on the body-less bird in-my-care.
What has kind of been grinding my gears is how everyone and their mother is so G.D. excited about this "new beginning" and how 2011 is such a grand opportunity for a "fresh start" and "new adventures"
Quite honestly, maybe I am a little behind but I am not feeling it. At all.
I don't fell any different. In fact it could still be 2010 and I would hardly notice.
Am I just a late 2011 bloomer? Will I wake up one morning in February and say "Gosh darn it- I feel amazing?"
I kinda hope so. I am honestly a little jealous of all you optimistic bastards.
