Hall & Oates / Keyboard Cat

Make My Day

Certain conversations with co-workers just make my day:

"So, how was dogsitting this weekend?"

*whispers*
"the dog had a really gross looking vagina"

The Thank -You Post

I would first like to Thank HAYLEY and ALICIA for having myself and C-dawg over on Friday night. Sorry we didn't make it to the show- we're lame like that.

And thanks Ali for my new profile pic! I needed an update, yo!

I'm getting this for lunch today. Veggie Gravy = Krista can eat poutine! Happy times!
Thanks to Kyle (who needs to start blogging again) for biking down to pick that shit up

I got my costume down pat over the weekend.

Thanks to Corey for hauling our asses to the burbs. We hit both Mississauga and Scarborough to locate my finds. It should be a success at Colleen's Halloween costume party Friday night.

We also picked up something for my brother in law who is REFUSING to dress up:

A final THANK YOU to Fiona for saving... my head yesterday.

See, we were sitting at Kilgours and I felt something fall into my hair. At first I thought maybe something from a tree OR worse yet BIRD SHIT....

But it was much worse! A bee had somehow managed to bury itself in my hair. I don't even HAVE that much hair so it is hard to say exactly how this happened. But Fiona jumped at it, and just started raking and raking into my locks until the little bastard was outta there.

ummm. Thanks.. for.. stopping by?

The Death of... our dinner

Last night, C dawg and I met up for an after an afterwork beer with Alex. This was followed by a few rounds of drinks as well as a few rounds of coin-wasting fun- That touch-screen game on the bar.... there was mini golf!

Anyways, we get home and call up the Always Open Late staple phone number in hopes of the 7 Vegetable Mix, Chicken Balls (for him) and greasy, wonderful Spring Rolls (for me)....
The recorded voice on the automated message begins with something about today's ECONOMY and "Due to this, and our refusal to compromise on the quality of our food......HO LEE CHOW HAS CLOSED ITS DOORS. We thank our customers for 20 YEARS of patronage."

Sobbbbbbbbbbbbbs. I dont' know what was my immediate reaction- My saddness for the lack of spring rolls which would appear before me OR the fact that this business has had to shut down after so many years of serving the hoards of late night-hungry Torontonians!

On a happier note- I made a very important decision recently- and acted upon this very decision yesterday after work.

I got me some big-ass winter boots.
I have "chicken legs".
The thought of sliding my size 8-and-a-halfs into some giant Sorel's will be a funny site BUT that aside- I did not have to completely compromise on fashion! Check these puppies out!

Taaaa daaaaa!

(Is it weird that I kinda can't wait for it to snow, now???)

Song me a song

There are no songs with my name in it.
At least I don't think there are.

As a kid, I was jealous of all the Suzies, Jessies and Jennifers.
I mean, how many songs need there be with a variation of Jennifer in it?
There's that phone number song from the 80's, A Donovan song that only hippies like me know, and numerous others with singers crooning about their yearning love for Jenns.

But no Krista.

I remember there was a Boy George song that did NOT say my name in it, but somehow I managed to change it so that it did, when I sang it in our basement:

♫"KRISTA blue persuasion oh yeah, it's a new vibration
KRISTA blue persuasion"♫

My sister's name is Kelly. There has GOT to be tons of Kelly songs out there. Still, she found a way to add her own to the mix.

In our world, Dexy's Midnight Runners has a hit with
♫"Kelly Eileen"♫

While I'm at it, I think I'll empathize with some other friend's of mine who have not heard their name sung all that much;

♪"Ma- Ma- Ma- Ma- Ma- Myyyyy FIONA"♫

♪"INAGADDA-DAVIDA baby" (wait that one already does)

my feet stink

  • I'm wearing tights AND socks over the tights to keep my dogs warm in my not-so-winter-boots.

  • I have to leave the office and go across the street for yoga-pilates now. The tights/socks have to come off.

  • I don't wish doing-yoga-beside-my-feet today on anyone.

  • Will warn the nice ones :)

JJB

At work here, on Halloween- Each department has a "theme".
This years theme for my team is Star Wars- The men are elated, the ladies... not so much. I mean, How many Princess Leia's can one office handle??

I decided to jump the gun and go online to look for a costumer BARGAIN. (I am NOT paying more than I need to on a costume I am wearing ONLY to the office.
I found the most heinous find of all time. Not to mention the worst character to ever grace the screens.

Ladies and Gentlemen, behold-

I gots to wash this thing DOWN before putting my head in there!

Blah-Zeh

Did anyone else feel like yesterday was just "one of those days"?

You know the sort: the sun doesn't quite make it out, there is a gloom in the air, and most daily routine things just can't seem to get straight.
I had one of those days, yesterday.

Coupled this up with a morning tif with the bf- and an afternoon email informing me an old acquaintance had passed- and you've got yourself a very... gloomy.... Zerbinator.

So I did what many women like I would do. Ran off to Shopper's Drug Mart and bought a box of liquid, smelly, "new-ness".

My hair is now "copper brown".

I have pilates today and I am hoping that the use of my growing, powerful muscles will draw out the remnants of any of yesterday's gloom.

On a happy note- this eve is TRIVIA with Kat and friends.

I have one minor problem with this.... I am going to miss the OFFICE again (Have not yet caught an episode this season!) WTF
RogersOnDemand does not show it this year is beyond me, as well! I havent gotten to see the Pregnent PAM!!
UGH.

Anyone know if these episodes are replyed at any certain time???
And DON'T SAY I can catch them online... You realise what we have at home right?????????

If I were rich I would buy C-man a Brand New comuter for his birthday... which is Monday by the way. I do not forsee me running into this kind of cash by then, so we are stuck with good ol' orangy for a little while longer.

Sigh.

the LINK post

Jackson had his photo taken by our lovely friend ROBIN yesterday.
He is such a handsome cat.....
Even Robin said so :)

It was the Wedding Anniversary (one whole year) of Robin and hubby Rick as well yesterday.
Look how cute-
I made guacamole.

This weekend was otherwise uneventful. Instead of wooping it up with the Nuit Blanche kids- we stayed in, drank beer, ate (fake) chicken nuggets drenched in Frank's Red Hot, and watched Le Hockey game.

This evening we hit Rodneys for Oysters with two of C dawgs work pals. They were with us LAST year when we sat on Kilgours patio and were surprized witht free beer and oysters- HERE.

So excited to slurp up those little bastrads.

They have no chance.
