RIP to a legend

Born October 7th in Jackson, Mississippi into a musical family.
Mel become a giant in the Blues Music scene.

In 1989, my very own hometown of Kitchener, Ontario got lucky.
Mel books shows at the club Pop The Gator. Much to our glee, he decides to stay and explore life in Canada.
"I like being where I’m not suppose to be" chuckles Mel.

The Canadian blues community welcomes him with open arms.

Today we say good bye to a great.
RIP. Mel.

My sincere condolences on the loss to your community. I am sure Kitchener will greet a newcomer that will not replace Mel, but continue the chain of creativity and music that you and Kitchener so obviously nurture.

I used to work with the wife of Blind Mississippi Morris in Memphis, Tennessee. She was all the time bragging about how she met Sheryl Crow and all these important people, as if she herself were important. She couldn't even play an instrument, but her ego was enormous. And so was she, now that I think of it. Anyway, I'm sorry Mel died. I know it must be a real loss to you. It just reminded me of the giant egomaniac I worked with who wanted us all to admire her for having married a blues man with talent.
